Jennie Norton
A founding partner of Norton Bowers, Jennie Norton is a Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and has spent the last thirteen years recruiting for the Instrumentation, Process Control and Automation industries and their marketplaces gaining a strong understanding of how they work, and an extensive knowledge of the companies and people working in them.
With her own experience ranging from Sales to Total Quality Management, she began her career in recruitment with a company specialising in sales recruitment for the process and scientific industries. Given responsibility for the Process Control and Automation division, she combined a management role with continued business development before moving to an Executive Search company as Managing Consultant. Here she was responsible for an expanding division, dealing with positions for VPs, MDs, Directors and Senior Executives in companies ranging from start-ups to multi-nationals.
Attendance at seminars, exhibitions and conferences, combined with customer and end-user site visits enable her to keep pace with market information and trends. This is augmented by her involvement with the ISA (The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society) where she has held office as Honorary Secretary for the England Section and on whose behalf she has participated at European meetings and at events such as Interkama.
Mike Bower
Also a founding partner of Norton Bowers, over the last nine years Mike Bower’s specialisation has been finding talented candidates for posts in Factory Automation, Process Control and Instrumentation industries across the UK.
His career began in production management, rising to process manufacturing manager, which gave him good grounding and excellent understanding of the Process industries.

Utilising this experience and pulling on all transferable skills he moved to a local recruitment company working within their research department to build his industry knowledge and contact base. He quickly moved into a sales consultancy role, specialising in the placement of Sales Engineers and Sales Managers.
Approached to work in Executive Search, he was able to consolidate his earlier learning in the process markets and gain the necessary skills, tools and knowledge to recruit at a more senior level.

He left to set up Norton Bowers, in partnership with Jennie Norton in 2001. Being able to offer competitive recruitment solutions – for roles as diverse as VPs at Corporate level to Internal Sales engineers and all levels in between - has ensured continuous growth of Norton Bowers year on year.
