Contracts Manager Job Specification

Reports To: Finance Director

Summary of the Role:

Establish discipline over sales contract review and negotiation and contract tracking. Manage commercial risk, particularly on larger non-standard and OEM agreements.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare forms of contract for System projects
• Review and negotiate customer mandated forms of contract
• Establish milestone management tools for live contracts, coordinating with Systems manager
• Mentor and train regional business centre and other staff on key contractual items, in order to establish global network of capable staff to handle basic contractual and project issues
• Establish records maintenance for tracking of commercially significant quotations in progress and record keeping of current contracts
• Develop and maintain OEM sales agreements, coordinating with OEM manager
• Manage confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
• Manage litigation in cooperation with Spectris legal and/or outside counsel
• Support procurement in the negotiation of supply contracts, in particular low cost country sourcing arrangements and outsourcing of manufacture
• Control use of distributor agreements

Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum 7 years relevant contracts management experience
• Degree educated or equivalent
• Relevant professional education or training
• Experience of overseas operation and wide range of customer types, or an organisation of similar level of complexity
